Would you agree that when a celebrity has a mental illness the illness becomes a celebrity?

Does this help de-stigmatise a mental illness? Or does it ‘market’ or popularise one diagnosis against another. Im not at all meaning to be insensitive to suffers, I’m just interested in how mental illness is represented in the media.
