Why does my Cingular phone set off the security alarms at stores?

When I go to a retail shop that has a security sensors it seems like my Cingular phone (Treo) set’s it off? This has also happened to my daughter who also has Cingular? Any suggestions as to why this is happening? http://bit.ly/nX6Zby
