Why does my AT&T Iphone eventually show as a Cingular phone?

I have been trying to setup alerts within yahoo, deleting my old settings and putting in the phone number and carrier of AT&T. It will even say completed but when I go back and it shows the current settings, it claims cingular wireless. Thoughts? http://bit.ly/oHvbLx
