What is the likely hood of having a child with mental retardation or schizophrenia?

My brother has schizophrenia and my boyfriend’s uncle had schizophrenia. If we were to have kids what would be their chances of having it? Also, if I were to have a kid with my boyfriend who’s whole immediate family has mental retardation (except him) what is the likely hood that they will have mental retardation?
